Seed Potatoes 2016

We have had another great delivery of seed potato yesterday and the majority of the varieties are ready now.

We have all the usual, reliable favourites & some new varieties that have great flavour, high yields & showbench winners.

First, second earlies & miancrop. Nearly 50 varieties to choose! Available in small & large quantities.

Exciting varieties this season include:

Amour. It is the belief of many that NVS Armour is the ultimate showbench variety.The outstanding uniformaty of size and colour coupled with great all round disease resistance make NVS Amour potatoes a constant competition winner.

Harlequin. The variety that took the title for the best flavour in blind taste tests a few years ago Harlequin is a direct rival for Anya, as it was bred by the same company, and as a cross between Pink Fir Apple and Charlotte, just imagine how good these must taste.

Harmony. A very popular export variety as they produce large crops of clean white skinned tubers that are very resistant to scab. Harmony is a very good baking potato. Most people will know of Harmony potatoes because of their regular success on the showbench as an exhibition variety. Indeed, their shallow eyes and a smooth skin make Harmony a very pretty looking potato.

British Queen. British Queen potatoes are known in Ireland as 'Queens' they're a popular early heritage variety with white skin and flesh. Dry and floury texture, full of taste and particularly good when boiled. Excellent dry rot resistance. Dry and Mealy / Floury. Superb for boiling, baking and roasting.
