Betula pen Tristis
Betula pendula 'Tristis' is a tall, graceful tree with pendulous twisting shoots at the end of the weeping branches. The white bark, as with many birch, develops characteristic black fissures with age. The catkins appear during the spring amongst the slightly serrated foliage which turns creamy yellow in the autumn. A special tree for its unusual weeping appearance.
