The next highlight of the show season opens its gates this week

The next highlight of the show season opens its gates this week as BBC Gardeners’ World Live gets under way at the NEC Birmingham (11-14 June, bbcgardenersworldlive.com) . It’s an incredibly exciting and busy show with loads going on, from the inspirational show gardens and spectacular floral marquee to tips from TV gardeners and advice from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Among the inspirational highlights of this year’s show is the Pot Zone, where you can get hands-on experience and pick up ideas for your own containers at home. You can have a go at all sorts of container gardening, from potted wildlife gardens to veg growing or colour-themed displays tailor-made to suit your style.

You’ll find everything you need here at our garden centre in Kington to create your own potted garden at home, from our great range of terracotta, glazed and economic plastic containers to a fantastic selection of plants. Make this the year you try something different: a dwarf mignonette apple tree underplanted with alpine strawberries, perhaps, or a potted wildlife garden. Let honeysuckles scramble up supports, fill pots with flowering thyme and lavender, and sow large pots with nectar-rich annual seed mixes for a display the bees and butterflies will love as much as you do.
